Booted agency heads keep high salaries

Seven director generals whose assignments ended prematurely are working in the government offices with salaries between 65,000 kronor and 123,000 kronor a month (between about 10,000 and 20,000) a month. And many of them have no or very diffuse responsibilities, TT News Agency writes, citing an article in Sunday’s Dagens Nyheter.

A director general forced to leave a position can keep the salary until the appointment was originally intended to end.

The system has been criticized, and a special investigation, assigned last fall to look into it, will be ready later this year, TT writes.
