Head of SNS-research centre leaves his post

The much criticised CEO of the Centre for Business and Policy Studies (SNS), Anders Vredin, has resigned. According to a press release from the Centre's board, it was a mutual decision that he would leave his post at the research centre - which is sponsored by the business community.

Vredin came under fire after he tried to stop the Centre's head of research from taking part in a discussion following a study on privatising social welfare services. According to the study, more scientific evidence is necessary before it is possible to claim that privatisation raises the efficiency or quality of the health and welfare services.

The head of research has already resigned as she felt she was hindered in her research and from taking part in the debate. The Centre's board "regrets" the situation, according to the press statement Monday.
