16-year-old asylum seeker shot in the face

Two young men have been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder a 16-year-old asylum seeker in Eslöv, in southern Sweden.

The teenage victim, who was shot in the face, was being treated in hospital as of Sunday late afternoon.

The shooting happened Saturday evening, just before 7 p.m., at a home for young asylum seekers who have come to Sweden on their own, without a parent or guardian. The weapon is thought to have been fired within the home, although the boy was lying on the ground outside when the ambulance came.

According to one witness, the suspects had come to the home, seeking out the boy.
