The trial against the two Swedish journalists Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson who are being held in Ethiopia will start on Tuesday. The men have sat in jail for over three months. They were arrested while investigating the Ogaden region, a disputed area in the east of the country that has rich deposits of oil. The Ethiopian government is accusing the men of terrorist crimes and entering the country illegally. They could face up to 40 years in prison.

Radio Sweden spoke to Swedish Radio News foreign reporter Beatrice Janzon, who is one of a few Swedish journalists in the Ethiopian capital who has been awarded a visa to enter the country to cover the trial.
