New test shows Bergman not switched at birth

A DNA test seemed to show that Ingmar Bergman had been switched at birth; but now it is reported that the test was contaminated - with DNA from a lab technician.

The technology magazine Ny Teknik ran new tests and report now that it was a member of staff at the National Board of Forensic Medicine who accidentally stood in for the world-famous Swedish director in the DNA test.

The DNA test was ordered by Bergman's niece, Veronica Ralston, and led to widespread speculation that Bergman had been switched at birth.
