muder trial

Possible review of Quick conviction

Yet another murder conviction against Thomas Quick may be unsafe, says a chief prosecutor.

Thomas Quick, now known as Sture Bergwall, was once thought to be Sweden's worst serial killer. But now there's doubt about a number of his convictions, which were based on his own confessions.

Now chief prosecutor Björn Ericson wants to see a further investigation into the murder of 11-year old Johan Asplund, who disappeared in 1980. If this causes a review of the conviction it will bring the total to five. The Svea Court of Appeal will rule on these cases this autumn.
