Welfare scam unravels

A father who forced his daughter to fake mental illness in order to receive state-funded care assistance is to stand trial.

He is one of 14 people accused of taking part in a welfare scam that enabled them to pocket the assistance money on false premises.

They were charged with fraud in the southern city of Halmstad. Three will also be charged for tax fraud as they ran companies that on paper had employees, reports the news bureau TT.
