Provinces reject wolves

The Swedish battle of the wolf continues between those who want the animal wiped out as it nearly was before - and those who want the present number of about 200 to grow back to natural proportions.

Two provinces in central Sweden refuse to answer state requests where they could place wolves out of the site of hunters who say they have to protect their dogs from wolves, sheep farmers and reindeer raisers sometimes eager to shoot wolves illegally.
