Victim of school bullies to receive $24,000

The municipality of Simrishamn in southern Sweden has said it will not oppose a decision from the Ombudsman for Children and Students requiring them to award some US$ 24,000 to a student who was bullied for two years.

Swedish Radio news reports the child was subjected to daily taunts and abuse by other students at the school.

The local government agrees with the Ombudsman that it did not do enough to stop the students from harassing the boy.
