Weather warning

Water still high on the Ätran

The Swedish Meteorological Institute has maintained the class 3 warning for rising water around the Ätran River in the south west of Sweden near the municipality of Falkenberg. The warning is for the middle and lower parts of the river. Officials say so far Falkenberg has been spared any major flooding.

Mostly cloudy conditions and a bit of rain are expected there during the day. More rain is expected to move in on Thursday.

Waters are also rising in the Gulf of Botnia, in the north east part of the country. The levels are expected to rise 120 to 130 centimetres over the average water level during the morning. A class 3 warning is still in effect there.

Gale force wind warnings are in effect for the entire Baltic Sea.
