Maser stands for "Material Science Experiment Rocket" and Monday's launch of the 5 metre unmanned projectile took just six minutes to complete its mission, 160 kilometres above the earth's atsmosphere.
The five experiments on board come from the European Space Agency. The Swedish Space Corporation's responsibility in Kiruna lies with the rocket and the launch.
The man leading the maser 12 project for the Swedish Space Corporation is Gunnar Florin and he has been speaking to Radio Sweden.
