Orback Apologizes

Jens Orback, Sweden’s new minister for Integration and Gender Equality issues, has apologized for comments he made in an interview with Swedish Radio this past weekend.

In the interview, Orback dismissed that he was homophobic by talking about a relative in Canada who lived together with a horse. The new minister said that ”people should live with whom they want.”

The comment outraged many, including The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Gender Rights, RFSL and members of parliament.

Orback said he regretted what he said but that he never thought that people would interpret his comment in that way.
