Stockholm subway a paradise for bacteria

The Stockholm subway train cars are reportedly a breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria.

Most of the bacteria such as staphylococcus, comes from skin, mucus and old food left on subway seats. The research was carried out by the newspaper Metro, which is given free to travellers on the Stockholm underground.

Marie-Louise Danielsson Tham, a researcher in food hygiene, advises tube travellers to avoid rubbing their eyes or putting fingers in their mouth until they have washed their hands.
