Swedish Police Warn Motorists about Winter-hungry Moose

Swedish highway police are warning motorists to slow down on the winter roads to avoid collisions with moose or European Elk.

This comes after a truck driver died when he hit one of these large-horned mammals, crashed into a highway fence and flipped over on the road.

Police say it’s a myth that elk and moose come out mostly at dawn or dusk ... and that with heavy snowfall, moose and deer often take to the ploughed roads in search of food – any time of the day.
