Tennis star out for the season

Robin Söderling's tennis career in doubt

Swedish tennis star Robin Söderling will not play again this season leading to specualtion that his career is prematurely over.

Söderling will miss the French Open, Wimbledon, the Olympics and US Open.

"It is very tough for me right now and I do not want to say anymore before my press conference on Monday," Söderling told SVT Sport.

The 27-year-old has not played since 17 July last year when he beat David Ferrer to win a tournament in Båstad, Sweden. He was later forced to pull-out of the US Open after feeling unwell and was later diagnosed with glandular fever.

Söderling has been Sweden's best tennis player in recent times, reaching two French Open finals in 2009 and 2010 and won ten ATP tour titles in a career which saw him ranked fourth in the world.
