Police with rescue dogs and members of the territorial army were on Wednesday searching for a 26-year old Czech man in an area west of Jokkmokk in northern Sweden.

The man is believed to have driven a rented Mustang cabriolet to the area last week. The car - neatly parked by the side of a medium sized road - was found deserted on Saturday, containing a driver's licence and money.

There was nothing wrong with the car, and police have not found any evidence of any crime being committed.

The man's relatives in the Czech republic has been contacted. According to Swedish Radio Norrbotten, police believe he was alone in the car.

The car was rented in the Czech Republic and should have been returned there last week. After police finished their forensic investigation, the rental firm came to collect the car earlier this week.
