Swedish Parliament Discusses Violence Against Women

  The Swedish parliament has been holding a special debate on domestic violence against women – with calls for stronger measures from the authorities to protect women and to sharpen punishment for the men involved.

  Some Swedish organizations earlier demanding that the names and photos of men sententenced for violence again women have changed their minds – concluding that the exposure could be devasting for the women and children in the family.

In some countries, the policy is to expose the condemned perpetrators.

The Swedish government is hosting an international conference on honor violence against women in Stockholm next month.
