Boys get worse grades

According to a study by Swedish Television News, boys receive poorer grades than girls in every one of Sweden’s municipalities.

On the average, boys' grades are 10 percent lower than girls. In 30 municipalities the gap is 30 percent or more.

Teacher Susanna Damm tells Swedish Television News: “Girls are more conscientious. Boys are more afraid of failing. For them it’s better to not even try than to try and fail.”
