Aung San Suu Kyi to receive Nobel on June 16

The Nobel Peace Prize committee has announced that Aung San Suu Kyi will travel to Oslo next month to accept the prize she was awarded in 1991.

She is expected to arrive in the Norwegian capital on June 15, on her first trip outside of Burma in 24 years. Her Nobel lecture will be the following day at Oslo City Hall.

The peace prize is the only Nobel awarded in Oslo, the others are presented here in Stockholm, in accordance with the will of the Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel.
