Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has downplayed the importance for this country of Wednesday’s informal European Union summit. Speaking to Swedish Radio News, Reinfeldt said there was a broad discussion but no decisions were made.
The meeting centered around the problems of the euro zone, which Sweden is not part of. Swedish Radio News says Reinfeldt is clearly opposed to new models for raising money, like the proposed Eurobonds. Concerning the coming EU 7 year budget he says discussions are needed about proposed new programs and how the bill should be divided up.
