Swedish song to Eurovision finals

The Swedish entry to the Eurovision Song Contest, “Euphoria”, sung by Loreen, has qualified for Saturday’s finals in Baku, Azerbaijan. The song is one of the favorites, Swedish Radio News says, along with the entries from Cyprus, Greece, Norway, and Italy.

Earlier in the week Loreen was criticized by the government of Azerbaijan after meeting with human rights activists there. The president’s office went so far as to demand that the European Broadcasting Union step in to prevent artists from “politicizing” the contest.
