Saab CEO alleges phone bugging

Published fredag 25 maj 2012 kl 13.02

The head of the Swedish defence group Saab claimed on Friday that his cell phone had been bugged repeatedly during negotiations with Switzerland over the sale of Gripen fighter jets.

Saab Chief Executive Håkan Buskhe tells the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet that mysterious text messages have been sent from his phone on various occasions, and suggested he was a target of industrial espionage.

In November the Swiss Federal Council announced its decision to purchase 22 Gripen fighters for an estimated 2.6 billion euros.
