Tanning challenge upsets cancer awareness group

Updated 14:26

The national Cancer Fund has objected to a tanning competition put together by a shopping mall in the town of Gävle. Organisers asked shoppers to send in a picture of their bronzed skin with a "V" on the stomach or chest - V possibly standing for the name of the mall, Valbo.

The Cancer Fund, which works with cancer statistics and public information campaigns, tells local TV4 television they have demanded that the competition be scrapped.

The mall has now cancelled its competition, reports the news agency TT.
