Security alert level "raised"
The Swedish military has heightened this country’s terrorism alert level by one step, from “low” to “raised”.
That’s level three on a scale of five, and the same level the Security Service of the Swedish police, Säpo, has maintained since 2010, after a recommendation from the National Centre for Terrorist Threat Assessment.
On its website the Swedish military writes that the Military Intelligence and Security Service has been conducting a survey of the terrorism threat to this country.
The increase, it says, is based on the general development of the threat picture in recent years, including attacks and attempted attacks in Europe, such as earlier this year in Toulouse, France.
