Alshammar: "It's worth a try"

At a press conference Tuesday evening, one of Sweden's biggest Olympic hopes, the swimmer Therese Alshammar, said she would join the competition in the 50-meter freestyle.

"I feel it's worth a try," she said.

Alshammar did a last test to see if she would be able to compete at all during the Olympics in London. She has been plagued by a trapped nerve in her neck since early July and already had to miss 100-metre freestyle relay, and the 100-metre freestyle singles as well.
