There's a rainbow for Swedish stores this rainy summer

Soggy summer sends Swedes shopping

Swedish Radio News reports that this year’s rainy summer may have kept people off the beach, but it has sent them shopping instead.

Swedish shopping centers and retail chains are reporting brisk business this summer. For example, the Gekås Superstore in Ullared says it broke records in June and July, with sales of nearly US$ 120 million.

There are similar reports from chains like Ikea and major shopping centers. The Nordby mall in Strömstad says it has had 6 percent more visitors this summer.
