New Swedish study

Sleep slims your stomach

Bad sleeping habits are linked to harmful amounts of belly fat, a Swedish study shows. Those who sleep five hours per night or less are considerably fatter than those who sleep longer.

Testing 6,500 women, the study, published in the journal Sleep Medicine, shows that those who slept less had bellies that often surpassed the measurement at which the risk of heart diseases escalates, newspaper Uppsala Nya Tidning reports.
