Öresund bridge closed for chemical transports

The Öresund Bridge between the Danish capital Copenhagen and Malmö in southern Sweden was closed for a while Tuesday morning because of the transport of chemicals across the span.

These were four shipments of cooled nitrogen gas from Sweden, to be used to help put out a fire that broke out Monday in a car repair garage in Copenhagen. The gas by itself is harmless, but drives away oxygen, and an accident could have made the surrounding air unbreathable.
