So far three of "serial murderer" Thomas Quick's convictions have been overturned.

Another Quick conviction quashed

Self-confessed serial killer Thomas Quick has had the third of his eight convictions dismissed. On Friday the district court in Sundsvall threw out the conviction for the 1980 murder of 11 year old Johan Asplund.

The decision was expected as prosecutors decided in March to withdrawn from the case.

Now calling himself Sture Bergwall, he made the confessions while he was been treated at a mental hospital.

Following his withdrawal of the confessions in 2008 there has been widespread concern that the criminal justice system made major mistakes in not properly investigating the cases.
