Two SAS planes struck by lightning

Two SAS planes had to return to Stockholm’s Arlanda airport Sunday when they were struck by lightning.

A Boeing 737 with 110 passengers and six crew members on its way to Luleå in the far north was hit at 3:00 PM Sunday. No one was injured and the passengers could take a different plane to Luleå two hours later.

At about the same time another 737, with 120 passengers and 5 crew members, on its way north to Umeå, was also struck by lightning. Its passengers could resume their journey in a different plane at around 5:30 PM.
