"Lore" awarded "Best film" at Stockholm festival

The film "Lore" by Cate Shortland has been picked as Best Film at this year's Stockholm International Film Festival.

In its motivation the jury says the film is "a portrayal of growing up that is both beautiful and brave... A historical drama with timeless brilliance". The film's Saskia Rosendahl also won the award for best actress, while Adam Arkapaw won the best cinematography award, the film's soundtrack won Max Richter the prize for best music.

Best actor was Tim Roth, for his role in the film Broken.

The 28th Stockholm International Film Festival closes today.
