Sweden Democrats bring back old financial spokesperson

Johnny Skalin, an MP for the Sweden Democrats, has taken over as financial spokesperson for the time being after Erik Almqvist resigned in a video scandal last week, the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet reports.

Skalin held the post from 2010 until early 2012, but was forced to leave after what his party considered poor performances in several debates.

"There will be a shuffle that affects several of our MP's," says Martin Kinnunen, press spokesperson for the Sweden Democrats.

Three Sweden Democrats were implicated when the newspaper Expressen published a video last week of an argument containing racist and sexist abuse.

"Worst crisis yet" for the Sweden Democrats

Political commentator Pontus Mattsson said the party is going through its worst crisis yet and will struggle to find replacements for Ekeroth and Almqvist.
