EU proposal for Sweden to pay more

Sweden would have to pay more into the European Union budget, if the current proposal goes through.

Negotiations will start again after lunch on Friday, but the current plans are for Sweden to lose much of its rebate, as the EU plans to cut back on money for the Internet and railways, but would spend more on supporting farmers.

The negotiations in Brussels cover the 2014-2020 budget, involving spending of about 800 billion SEK annually.
