While attention will focus on Sweden's biggest sports star, an illustrator is quitely making waves in the Children and Young Person Best book category. Sofia Malmberg's debut novel "Elin under the sea" is notable for the fact that it is a graphic novel and tackles the subject of internet grooming.
The first time nomination for a graphic novel has sparked debate on whether graphic novels can be considered the same art form as conventional books.
Sofia Malmberg, who is a freelance illustrator, told Radio Sweden that graphic novels have been moving into the mainstream in recent years, and for her, a picture can sometimes tell more than a thousand words.
"I hope they will be taken as seriously as text based books. I like the way you can tell so much with a picture".
