"Banks must pay part of the cost of what makes us so vulnerable, this is a sector that is going to be regulated tougher and tougher," says Anders Borg.
Borg says he is concerned about household debt.
"We need to bring down the debt, the direction is tighter rules for banks and it also means lower profitability," Borg told bankers.
Borg wants to see that the trends of rising private debt and higher house prices are broken.
"This means that loans can increase around 3-4 percent, but one cannot imagine that you deliver it up to 5-7 percent", says Anders Borg.
