Sweden falls short on state corruption: national audit office

The head of the national audit office has criticized the government for its approach to combatting corruption measures in state authorities.

Sweden’s chief auditor, Jan Landahl, writes in Dagens Nyheter newspaper today that few Swedish authorities work systematically on rooting out corruption.

He says the government needs a coordinated approach to avoid a repeat of recent scandals within the social agency, migration board and the prison service
