Blueberry fugitive "arrested in Thailand"

A man suspected of stealing a company's payroll and leaving many Thai berry pickers stranded in Sweden, has been arrested - in Thailand.

There has been a warrent for the man's arrest since 2010, when he disappeared along with millions of kronas from the bankrupt berry company Lomsjö.

Many people who had come from Thailand to pick berries were left without pay in the northern town of Åsele.

Now the Bangkok Post reports that the man was seized by the Thai police in the Chon Buri region on friday. The paper also reports that the man has made a confession. The suspect has always denied to the Swedish authorities that he took the company's money.
