A woman has been shot and killed in Gothenburg. Police have arrested a suspect, reports Swedish Television News.

A police spokeswoman says that several witnesses came forward after they heard shots fired in the Högsbohöjd district just after 7:00 am.

When police arrived on the scene they found the woman, seriously injured in the arm and the face. She died soon afterwards, before she could be taken to hospital.

Police say the woman was aged 45, and that the suspect now arrested is a man in his 50s. The area is now sealed off, and police are using dogs and a helicopter to search it, plus door-to-door talking to witnesses.
