Sweden hands-free mobile law moves closer

Talking or texting whilst holding a mobile phone behind the wheel could soon be outlawed in Sweden. Unlike the rest of Europe, the hands-free mobile phone law has yet to be introduced in Sweden. Now the opposition parties are united in calling on the government to introduce the law requiring people to use hands free phones behind the wheel.

It is the main opposition party, the Social Democrats, in parliament's transport committee which is driving the legislation, with a decision in parliament expected on March 27.
