Hundreds of litres of oil has leaked from a commuter train in Lerum outside Gothenburg. The train was damaged after running over one or more rubbish cans lying on the rail track. The Swedish Transport Administration is blaming sabotage and its press spokesperson has criticised those responsible.
"It can cause a serious accident. Also, there are social costs when a train is stationary and needs to be repaired," says Bodil Sonesson to news agency TT. Emergency services were alerted at 7am and the clean-up operation is extensive.
