Sweden's Eurovision Song Contest

Four million watched the final

Saturday's final of the Eurovision Song Contest had 4,126,000 TV viewers, the country's biggest TV audience in seven years. The numbers are based on preliminary statistics from the TV ratings company MMS.

In the 2006 Swedish Eurovision Song Contest, nearly 4.3 million people saw the singer Carola sing the song "Evighet" or "Eternity".

This year's series of shows in the Eurovision Song Contest attracted more viewers than any since the concept of having a number of competitions was launched in 2002.

The number of viewers could even go higher once web streaming figures are added at the end of the week.
