Sweden’s witch park plans cancelled
Plans for an enormous witch-themed amusement park in the south-east of Sweden have been scuppered.
It would have cost SEK 500 million to build the fairytale-like Witch World park outside the small town of Mönsterås, but the municipality had not received any notice about the funding.
It has now cancelled the plans that were drawn up in 2010, according to local media reports.
A Dutch group led by the crime fiction novelist and entrepreneur Ton Theunis was behind the project.
"We wish Theunis luck if he wants to try elsewhere," councilor Roland Åkesson told local paper Barometern OT.
