Swedish bishop: New pope may cause "revival"
The head of the Catholic Church in Sweden says that the new pope may help to remind Swedes from Latin America of their Catholic roots.
"It can be a revival for many" Anders Arborelius, bishop of Sweden's only Roman Catholic diocese told Swedish Radio.
The new pope, who has taken the name Francis, is a bishop from Argentina. The Roman Catholic Church in Sweden claims a membership of around 100,000, but says that there are probably around 150,000 "believers" in Sweden.
The only time a pope has come to Sweden, or to any of the Nordic lands, was the visit of Pope John Paul II in 1989.
