PM Reinfeldt wary of plan to arm Syrian rebels
Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfedlt does not want the EU weapons embargo to Syria to be lifted, despite calls from France and the United Kingdom for the EU to arm rebels in the war-torn country.
"I think it is dangerous to think one can export weapons that will only reach military targets," Reinfeldt told Swedish Radio in Brussels.
In discussions with other EU leaders, the arms embargo came up only briefly, Reinfeldt said. "There are many other countries who support Sweden's position."
