A fire broke out in an apartment block in Vallentuna north of Stockholm at lunch time Sunday, reports news Agency TT.

Eight fire trucks were sent to the scene, where 30 fire fighters are trying to put out the flames in the attic of the building.

The fire likely began on a balcony and spread to the attic. By 3 P.M., the fire was under control and no humans had been hurt. "We will see how extensive the damage is when everything has been put out," leading fireman Emil Jorlin told TT.

The local municipality arranged housing for the night in a local youth centre, where around ten people will spend the night on Sunday, the rest staying with friends and family.
