Snowstorm misses Skåne

The snowstorm forecast to hit southern Sweden overnight and early Tuesday passed by to the south of the country, meaning Skåne missed out on the predicted weather chaos.

Strong winds did hit the region, but the predicted 25 centimetres of snow and blizzards did not materialise.

Eva Strandberg, meteorologist at Sweden's Weather Service SMHI told news agency TT: "Our forecast was wrong, the area of precipitation took a more southerly path than we expected".
