Hultsfred music festival moves north

One of Sweden’s oldest music festivals will change venue this year. Following years of financial difficulties, the Hultsfreds festival will move 350 kilometres north to Sigtuna, west of Stockholm.

The decision was announced on Wednesday by the German concert organizers, FKP Scorpio.

Several well-known artists are already booked for this year's festival on 13 to 15 June, including Portishead, Arctic Monkeys and Fatboy Slim. Although the festival will leave its birthplace, it will keep the name and now be called the Hultsfred Stockholm festival.

The Hultsfreds festival has taken place in the eastern county of Småland since 1986.
