Prosecutor charges

Police officer drove 3km with a man on hood of car

A police officer near Gothenburg is being charged with reckless endangerment after being accused of driving for three kilometers with a man on the hood of his car, reports news agency TT.

In August 2012, a man demonstrating the deportation of an asylum seeker to Afghanistan stood in front of a police car and ended up on the hood of the vehicle.

A prosecutor says the car reached speeds of 50 kilometers per hour. Local media report that the police officer turned the car violently several times to throw the man off.

The newspaper GT reports that the prosecutor says the police officer "had in gross negligence" endangered the life of the demonstrator.
