Swedish man dies in avalanche in Switzerland

A man in his 20s from Östersund has died in an avalanche in Switzerland.

The man was together with four other Swedish friends.  They were on their way down the mountain in the ski town Disentis when an avalanche occurred on Thursday.

Three of the Swedes avoided the snow while two found themselves buried. One of the Swedes was able to be rescued easily. But local media report that the man who died did not turn on his avalanche transceiver and could not be found until it was too late.
