"I thought he was joking at first,” said Henrik Pederson, an inspector with Uppsala police, to news agency TT.
Police brought an animal control officer to the scene who at first thought maybe a sea eagle had taken the animal and dropped it in the woods. “But there was no evidence to back that theory,” Pederson says. “The animal was unharmed”.
They took the seal pup back to the water and released it. No one is sure how the seal got to the forest, but police do not suspect any crime.
